Janice Darlene Alva

Janice Darlene Alva, age 72, Muncie, passed away at her home on Monday, March 29, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was born on April 21, 1948 to the late Vurtis L. Jones and Vivian C. (Frye) Jones.

Janice was a stay at home mother to her children for most of her life. She was the spoiler at home and could always make everyone laugh. She made everyone feel like family no matter who you were. She spent most of her time watching family feud with her wife Tammie, crocheting, doing puzzles, and collecting nick knacks. She made the world’s best donuts. She was a kind and gentle woman but told you how it was if you needed to hear it. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandma, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Janice is survived by her wife of 29 years, Tammie Couch; children Larry Bowen (Amy), Dawn Essex (Rocky), Kimberly Rainey, and Michell Bowen (Mike); grandchildren Cory Hass, Aidan Bowen, Novalee Bowen, Michael Ireland, Deja Hooten, Jalynn Hooten, Kyler Essex, Chasity Borson, Terry Shaw, Devin Essex, Gage Essex, Brittany Wilson (Tony), Whittney Wilson, and Steffon Mote (Felicia); several great-grandkids; and siblings Myron Jones and Jill Jones.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Michael Jones, and grandchildren Justin Bowen and Dakota Patterson.

A visitation will be held on Monday April 12, 2021 from 11 to 12 with a funeral service beginning at 12 at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Service – Anderson.
