Jay L. Maynard Sr

May 31, 1943 — February 28, 2020

Shelbyville, Indiana

Jay L. Maynard Sr., 76, passed away peacefully at his home,
surrounded by his loving family, on Friday February 28th 2020. He was
born in Indianapolis, Indiana on May 31, 1943 to Jay and Jurittie
Maynard.
He served his country proudly during the Vietnam War in the United
States Air Force. He was a past commander at American Legion Post 70. He
enjoyed working at Don Becom’s Furniture, Ricks Warehouse and
Heilig-Meyers, as well as running a flea market booth for several years
at Bargersville and Gnaw Bone. He loved sewing and made blankets for his
family. His favorite thing to do was sit on his front porch and relax.
Jay is survived by his wife: Kay(Tribbey)Maynard, children:
Adona(Larry)Merriman, Debbie(Mark)Crawford, Timothy Clark and Jay
L.(Malinda)Maynard Jr., grandchildren: Tonia Urban, Jessica Merriman,
Larry(Nikole Richey)Merriman, Lindsay Merriman, Brandon Barney, Kayla
Maynard, Zyon Maynard, Timothy Logan Clark, Jacob Diaz, Matthew
Crawford, Jillian Garlitch, Brianna Diaz, and Eli Clark, great
grandchildren: Justin Lane, Kaylee Lane, Kenny Owens, LeeAnna Owens,
Kalyde Owens, Ryder Hollin, and Maelee Barney, siblings: Max Maynard,
Jurittie Maynard, Joe Maynard, Kathy(Mike)Humphrey, James(Linda)Maynard,
Paul(Lori)Maynard and several nieces and nephews. 
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Sarah(Carter)Maynard,
children: Timothy Maynard, Tina Maynard, grandson:
Larry Eugene Gabbard-Merriman and great granddaughter: Zoey Lee.
It was Jay’s wishes to have no funeral service. A celebration of life
will be held at a later date. Arrangements provided by Legacy Cremation &
Funeral Services – Lawrence
