Jerry Lee Lakey

Jerry Lee Lakey, 87, of Anderson, passed away on May 20, 2024.  He was born on August 8, 1936, in Alexandria, IN, to the late Gerald and Kathryn (Ashby) Lakey.  Jerry graduated from Anderson High School in 1955 and attended Community College.  After college, he joined the U.S. National Guard and served for 10+ years.  Jerry worked at General Motors – Guidelamp for 30+ years.  He was a member of Florida Station Church of God.

Jerry enjoyed watching the Colts, Pacers, IU, Nascar, and Anderson High School basketball.  He loved going on long car rides with his friends and family to try specialties from independently owned restaurants.

He is preceded in death by his parents, mentioned above; his first wife, Donna (Chapman) Lakey (passed away in 1993); his second wife, Linda Dusing Lakey; his son, Dennis Lakey (passed away in 2018).

Jerry is survived by his children, Brenda Stratton (Chuck), Jeff Lakey (Sally), Starla Eaglin, Stacey McMillian (Norm), and Tami Norrod; 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 5 great great-grandchildren.

Cremation Arrangements handled by Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Anderson.  Jerry’s final resting place will be with his first wife, Donna Jean, at Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson, IN.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a local charity of your choice.
