Ms. Joan Westfall

March 10, 1946 — December 14, 2020

Plainfield, IN

Joan Westfall (Mason) went to be with our Lord on December 14, 2020.  She was born on March 10, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri to parents, James and Velma Mason.  Joan grew up in a large family and was blessed with a forever best friend, her twin sister Judy.  They were inseparable and could never be apart for an extended period of time so their connection was undeniable.  Because her family moved around a lot growing up, she was determined to raise her daughters (Kaleema and Andrea) grounded in one place so most of her adult life was spent in Plainfield, Indiana.

Joan loved to cook and everything she made was delicious.  She enjoyed showing her love by having family dinners and making their favorite meal, chicken and noodles.  Joan was very talented Interior Designer and she could do anything! Gardening was another way she expressed her artistic side.  Her garden was beautiful and it brought happiness to her and others.

Joan was a wonderful mother and grandmother, affectionately known as nana.  Joan leaves to cherish in her memories, daughters; Kaleema (Lee) Massey and Andrea Thomas; grandchildren (who meant everything to her), Brianne Sandlin, Drew Thomas, Eric Sandlin and Audrey Thomas; sisters, Ruth Upton and Jeannette Murday.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, James and Velma Mason; siblings, Kenneth, Patrick and William Mason, Gertrude Neaville, Carol Cleveland, Jane Gossard, Judy Helton, and Janice Miller.

There will be no service at this time.  Joan wishes were that she be cremated and her remains laid to rest with her twin, Judy, in Illinois.  This will take place in the Spring.
