Joann Cardwell

Joann Cardwell, age 71, of Anderson, passed away at Community Hospital Anderson on November 8, 2021. She was born on July 13, 1950 to the late Charlie and Martha Lagle.

Joann was a homemaker to her family most of her life. She loved taking care of people and would do anything for anyone. She was a devout Christian and a life-long member of Connection Pointe Church. She loved reading her bible, was always helping the church in some way, and was the sweetest person to be around. She loved to play skipbo with her sisters, watch western shows, and listen to Christian music. She brought her laughter and joy everywhere she went. She was a hard worker in her life and would always stay busy. Truly God was the most important thing to her, and she loved serving the Lord in all she did. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Joann is survived by her children David Cardwell, Timothy Cardwell, Mary Cardwell, and Patricia Dodson (James); grandchildren Maria, Nathaniel, Hannah, Christopher, Sloane, and Mayz; son-in-law Chris Vannatta; siblings Dave Lagle, Carolyn Cook, Sharron Gossage, Susan Mundy, Peggy Pritchard, Tammy Hayes (Tony), Deborah Fortwengler (Bill), and Ricky Lagle; several nieces and nephews; and sweet dog Lady.

She is preceded in death by her parents listed above, husband Larry Cardwell, and daughter Rachel Vannatta.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 from 12-2pm with a funeral service beginning at 2pm at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Service – Anderson.
