Joanna Gayle Fritz

Joanna Fritz, 72, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2024 following a courageous 4-year health battle related to an autoimmune disorder. Her daughter Alissa was by her side as her spirit was set free.

She was born on November 6, 1951 in Hammond, IN to Joseph and Irene Harvey. She was one of 5 siblings and is survived by her sister (Nancy & Tom Bewley) and brother (Wayne Harvey). 

Joanna graduated from Hammond High School before going on to get her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Social Work from Indiana University.

Joanna had a bright light and spirit that touched many throughout her 25+ year career as a social worker, specializing in mental health. She was a humble & compassionate leader, who had a gift for making others feel at ease.

Her life's legacy is her two daughters (Alissa Hughes & Lindsay Huff), who she raised as a hard-working single parent. Joanna loved being a mother and devoted her life to their successes. Her greatest joy in recent years was becoming "Nana" and spending time with her grandchildren, Hayley, Tripp, Hope, & Hunter. She was very loved and will be dearly missed.

Memorial service and celebration of Joanna's life will take place at Grace Church in Noblesville on November 21st, 2024 at 4 pm.
