Joe Willie Braxton Sr.

Joe Willie Braxton Sr was born on September 26,1930. He departed this life at 86 years old on Thursday, October 6, 2016at the Abbie Hunt Bryce Home. He was born in Inverness, MS to AaronBraxton Sr. and Caledonia Weatherby. He married the love of his life IdaMae Young on June 14, 1948. He and his family moved to Indianapolis, IN in1950. He worked for Chrysler for 31 years as a groundskeeper until heretired in June of 1988.
Preceding him in death, his parents Aaron Braxton Sr. and Caledonia Weatherby. Siblings Mattie, George, Dora, Bessie Bell, Joe Pete, Arthur, Howard,John Henry and Bea.
He is survived by his brothers Aaron Jr, and George Braxton; daughtersBarbara Messer, and Callie Bonds; sons, Robert (LouVon) Braxton and Joe BraxtonJr; grandchildren, Shawn Turman, Kaci (Roderick) Williams and Jamal Finch Sr.; great grand children Shawnelle Turman, Andrew Watkins II, Hollis Coe,Jeremiah Dixon, Shayla Turman, Jamal Finch Jr., Jaida Finch, and Jamyla Finch;Great Great grand children Wesley Mullins III, Lainey Ocasio, Eli Lee, EddieLee Jr. and Elisza Lee.
Services will be at 12noon on Friday, October 14, 2016 at Legacy Cremation& Funeral Services -Lawrence, 5215 Shadeland Avenue, with visitation from11am until the time of service.
