John "PJ" Baker

John "PJ" Baker, a true free spirit with a heart as big as his love for life, passed away on January 15th, 2025. Born to the late Jacqueline Bane and Michael L. Baker, PJ grew up with a passion for cars and a love of the open road that defined much of his life.

A skilled auto repair mechanic, PJ not only excelled in his craft but truly loved what he did, finding joy in every grease-covered challenge that came his way. His wild and adventurous spirit mirrored the thrill of the races he adored. PJ was a devoted NASCAR fan and a loyal friend to all who shared his love of racing.

When PJ wasn’t under the hood of a car, you could find him enjoying the simpler pleasures of life. He loved watching movies, gathering around a fire with friends, and had an uncanny talent as a racoon whisperer. Despite his untamed nature, PJ had a good heart and good intentions.

He is survived by his siblings Robbie Baker, Leslie(Mike) Crouse, and Elizabeth(Rob) Allard; his niece Brook Baker; his aunts Patty(Gary) Paschal, Bonnie(Pete) Linn, and Brenda Baker; and his cousins Laurie Garman, Randy Paschal, Mark Paschal, Anthony Baker, Heather Northern, Crystal Grubbs, and Harmony Baker. He also leaves behind a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and dear friends, including Corey Pence, Billy and Johnny Hooten, and Vickey and Mickey, who will all cherish his memory.

PJ is preceded in death by his grandparents John Baker and Joan Sorg; parents, Jacqueline Bane and Michael L. Baker, and his brother, Mike Baker Jr, his uncle David Baker, and cousin, Scott Emswiller.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025 from 2pm to 4pm with a service starting at 4pm.

PJ’s life was a testament to living boldly and loving deeply. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter and unforgettable memories.
