John Karl Morrow Sr. was born to Eugene and Lola Mae (White) Morrow in Indianapolis, Indiana on October 23, 1940. He attended Arsenal Technical High School, graduating in 1958. He later attended ITT Technical Institute, where he received his associate degree. John worked as a machinist at Allison Transmissions, a division of General Motors, retiring in 2012. After retiring from General Motors he went on to work at his family owned business. He then closed his family business of 17 years and went on to work in transportation as a school bus driver where he worked until his untimely death.
John was loved by many and he loved his family and would help out whenever and wherever he could.
John loved to lift weights, which was a lifelong hobby. He was affectionately known as “the Hulk” to his children’s friends. He loved tinkering with old cars. He also loved nature, traveling with his family, and later in life, he took up fishing with his adopted son Christopher.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his older brother, Eugene; sister, Ruth Helen; and baby brother, Joseph Morrow.
John is survived by his wife of 58 years, Madeline (Perdue) Morrow; sons, Kelly and Kevin Kerr, John (Lynn) Morrow, Ronald Morrow, Christopher Morrow; daughters, Pamela Terry and Gina Morrow; along with twenty grandchildren and twenty-one great-grands; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be private at this time due to the pandemic. There will be a memorial service open to friends via Zoom at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 29.
We look forward to the time as Revelation 21:4 says: “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be any more. The former things have passed away.”
