On July 11, 2024, the world lost a bright young soul Joseph Lawrence Watson, 10, of Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on August 19, 2013, to his mom and dad, Mary Shaw and James Watson. Joseph was his mom and dads "Rainbow Baby", after the loss of his brother Alex.
Joseph's memory will forever be cherished by his loving parents, Mary Shaw and James Watson, his siblings Bionca, Lilly, Johanna, and Christopher, grandparents; Donald Shaw (Opa) and Wendy Shaw (Oma), along with his faithful companion Roxy the family dog.
Joseph had a zest for life unlike any other. He enjoyed playing Pokémon and Beyblades and could spend hours immersed in their world of adventure. His favorite snacks were Honey Buns and Nutter Butters, simple pleasures that brought a smile to his face.
A unique bond was shared between Joseph and his dad as they pursued the hobby of panning for gold together. The anticipation of receiving their Pan for Gold kits was always met with excitement, and their discoveries of actual gold nuggets solidified their special connection.
Aside from his hobbies, Joseph had dreams of becoming an Archaeologist—a testament to his curious mind and thirst for knowledge. His infectious laugh and sociable nature made him a beloved figure in the neighborhood. Always willing to lend a helping hand, he was known for playing football with his friends and spreading happiness wherever he went.
The memories created by Joseph during his short time on earth will forever remain etched in the hearts of those who knew him. As we bid farewell to a spirited young boy taken too soon, we find solace in knowing that he is now reunited with those who have gone before him—his grandparents Vivan Howell, Ernest Watson Sr., great aunt Sylvia Shaw (Gates), and little brother Alex.
Though Joseph may no longer walk among us physically, his spirit will forever dance in the memories we hold dear. May he rest in peace knowing he was loved beyond words and will never be forgotten.
Services to honor Joseph's life will be held at Englewood Christian Church in Indianapolis on July 19, 2024. A Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM followed by a Funeral Service at 12:30 PM. The final farewell will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery during a Graveside Service starting at 1:45 PM.
