Joshua Holden Scott Pence-Bousman

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Joshua Holden Scott Pense-Bousman on January 21, 2024. Born to Emily Pence on October 8, 1990, in Muncie, IN.

Josh, known for his vibrant personality, was a self-proclaimed "big nerd" who found joy in the worlds of anime and attending comic conventions. A natural jokester, he had a remarkable ability to lighten even the tensest situations with his humor. Despite his aversion to cleaning, Joshua's intellect and artistic talents were amazing.

Educated at Elwood High School, Josh later pursued his passion for graphic design at a technical institute in Chicago. He had dreams of creating cartoons, video games, anime, and video game streaming- a testament to his boundless creativity and aspirations.

Josh is survived by his loving wife, Cassie Bousman, who shared in his dreams and adventures. He leaves behind his mother, Emily Pence, and his brothers, Eric Thomson and Harley Quillen. In addition, he is remembered by his in-laws, Justina Adams, Bill Bousman, Tonia (Zach) Golday, and Heather Bousman.

Josh held a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews: Camden and Kinsley Golday, Liam, Rowan, Peyton, Thea, Luca, Delta, and Syrus Thompson, and Aurora Quillen.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert and Virginia Pence.

In remembering Josh's life, let us think of the the laughter he brought, the dreams he pursued, and the artistic legacy he leaves behind. May his spirit continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A visitation will be held at Legacy Funeral Home, 504 W. 9th St. Anderson on Wednesday, January 31st, 2024 from 10am to 12pm.  The service will begin at 12pm, and burial to follow at Beech Grove Cemetery in Muncie, IN.
