Joy Lynn Burd of Indianapolis, Indiana exited this world on Monday, May 14th, 2018. Joy, mother of Mary Ellen Hofmeister and grandmother (aka “Grammy”) to Noah Mathew Campbell, was well-loved by many. Born and raised in Indianapolis, she is the daughter of David and Leona Burd who both went on to be with the Lord earlier in Joy’s life. She has several close friends, including two in particular, Mrs. Sharon Perdomo and Mrs. Bobbie Eid, who have stood by her side throughout her life since childhood. Now that the facts are out of the way, Joy wanted to leave behind a message for everyone in attendance today…
“I thank you all for your goodbyes and supporting my daughter and grandson. I will put in a good word for you up here! As Mary would tell you, I spoke about death a lot. More so than I ever talked about life. See, I knew that one day I would get a call, a sort of an offer you just can’t refuse. I know my daughter and grandson are in very good hands down here & our Heavenly Father will carry her through this loss. I was ready to go.”
“I must admit, I am happy for a reunion with my parents and friends (and past dogs too!) who I haven’t seen in a long time! Please don’t be sad for me, as this is a wonderful, perfect place where I am 100% physically and mentally healthy & feel good enough for the socializing I once enjoyed so much. Food up here is delicious, and you never gain a pound! Mary has detailed instructions on what I want, and if you all know Mary, low adherence to these instructions will not be tolerated. She is kind of bossy as most of you know.”
“As I close, I will say, like I always, always said, ‘Bye for now, Love Always, Joy.’ “
