Karen Creager

Karen Sue Creager was born on May 18, 1951, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She passed away on March 11, 2025.

Karen was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Leo Oliver Weasner and Frona Hazel Weasner (Lockhart), as well as her brother. She is survived by her cherished son, Scott Michael Creager, aged 42, and her three beloved grandchildren: Blake Michael Creager, aged 22, Brooke Michelle Creager, aged 17, and Jersey Rae Ann Mahurin, aged 18. A constant companion in her life was her grand dog, Riley Roe Creager. Karen is also survived by siblings, Richard L. and Dorothy Weasner, both of Indianapolis, as well as their children: Robin Weasner, Randy Weasner (Molly), and Brian Weasner. Additionally, she had a stepdaughter, Kimberly M. Haselton, and her daughters Valerie Haselton and Megan Haselton, along with stepsons Jeremy Creager and Jason Creager.

Having been divorced for 32 years and never remarried, Karen treasured her only serious relationship with a kind-hearted man of integrity, Richard Sparks, with whom she maintained a meaningful friendship throughout the years.

Professionally, Karen had a remarkable career, spending 16 years at RCA Credit Union as the Vice President of Loans until the institution's acquisition. She then dedicated another 25 years to BP Petroleum and worked as a paralegal for a family law firm in downtown Indianapolis. Her creativity flourished in floral design; she held several certificates and enjoyed working part-time at florists and floral wholesalers, crafting beautiful arrangements that brought joy to others.

A devoted dog lover, Karen cherished her five dogs throughout her life: Sheba, Blue Boy, Sparkles, Rita, and Hanna. Her profound love for animals greatly influenced her family, particularly her son, Scott.

Karen was a Godly woman whose faith guided her daily life. She praised God with sincerity, immersed herself in prayer and scripture, and often wrote heartfelt notes in the margins of her Bible. Her unwavering belief in divine providence shaped her approach to life, consistently demonstrating generosity and selflessness, especially towards her children and grandchildren. She was always ready to give her last dollar if it meant supporting them, embodying a deep faith that God would always provide.

For those who knew her, Karen's spirit was a true embodiment of love and resilience. She worked tirelessly, often juggling multiple jobs to ensure her child had the best education and opportunities possible. Her devotion to her family was unparalleled, and the love she shared with her grandchildren was immeasurable—indeed, words could scarcely express the depth of her affection.

Karen Sue Creager will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her legacy of kindness, hard work, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
