Katherine began a journey in study to be a nun, later changing her mind returning to her home in Owensboro, Kentucky until she relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana starting a career at the Finance Center until she was hired on at the United States Postal Service climbing the corporate chain, becoming overseer of Logistics, until she retired March 2, 1992 after 33 years.

Katherine was a lover of a variety of music but loved classical music as a trained pianist. Katherine was a political enthusiast maintaining knowledge of current events. Her devotion to family changed the course of her life as she dedicated herself in raising three successful children with an abundance of love, commitment in developing each one to be the best, no matter their chosen career paths. Hearts are broken with her passing. As a mother, she was a confidant, our greatest cheerleader in everything we all did in our perspective careers. It’s with gratitude unto the most high God who blessed her to be not only strong in raising her children as a single parent after divorce. She was resilient and instilled in all of us to be believers of Jesus Christ as our Savior, continuously teaching prayer, given encouragement to have self confidence in who we are as her children, but as children of God.

***
Katherine was an intercessory prayer warrior. Her favorite prayer and time spent with our Heavenly Father whom she prayed to faithfully at 3:00 pm on a daily basis was praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet.
“We who belong to Christ can do this work of applying the effects of His eternal redemption to the needs of the world. Merciful Lord, indeed, this is a vital part of “Our mission as your servant in intercessory prayer.”

***
Katherine F. Grundy whom we called mother, mom, mommy and gram will be truly missed. God has given her angel wings to watch over us.
Dear Mommy our love for you is eternal. We don’t say goodbye, we say “See you at the open gates of Heaven when it’s time for our arms to embrace once more.”
