Kathryn L. Alexander

Kathryn Louise Alexander, 93, passed away March 8, 2016. She was born December 5, 1922 in Indianapolis. She graduated from Ormsby Village (Kentucky) High School in 1940 and attended Bryant and Stratton Business College for two years before returning to live the rest of her life in Indianapolis.

She was employed by the U.S. Civil Service GAO, also working at Rough Notes and American Red Cross. After retiring she was proud to work many years at polling places on election days. During Beech Grove’s centennial celebration in 2006-07 she was crowned Beech Grove Senior Center Queen.

She is survived by her twin children, Charles H. Alexander and Charlotte Alexander (David Congalton), granddaughters Paula Guild (Mike) and Phyllis Kriner, and six great-grandchildren. Her husband Charles H. Alexander Sr. and daughter Melanie Kriner preceded her in death.

Visitation is Monday, March 14, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Indianapolis, 1604 W. Morris St. Burial to follow at Concordia Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials in Mrs. Alexander’s memory can be made to the Santa Maria Valley Humane Society.
