Kathy Kempner

Kathy Kempner, born on December 1, 1952, passed away on September 15, 2024. Kathy was a vibrant, fun-loving woman who brought joy and laughter to those around her. She had a deep love for dancing, being goofy, and sharing special moments with her beloved dog, Molly. Her favorite music was the oldies, and she was always up for a scratch-off ticket and cheering on her Chicago Cubs and Bears.

Kathy had a passion for collecting knickknacks, especially her beloved porch geese, which she adored dressing up for the holidays and seasons. She was known for her immaculate home, as she took pride in keeping everything clean and organized. She loved spending time outdoors, whether it was camping, making s’mores. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards with friends and family, and her favorite drink Cherry Captain and Coke.

Kathy is survived by her sons Derek Kempner and Chad Kempner (June); her grandchildren Gavin and Mackenzie Kempner; her siblings Mark (Michelle) Vandezande, Kay Fry, Paul (Vickie) Vandezande, Lisa Zimmerman, and Terry (Virgil) Cross. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and her ex-husband, John Kempner. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Patricia and Eugene Vandezande, her brother-in-law Charlie Fry, and her former brother-in-law Jim Zimmerman.

Kathy’s infectious humor, loving spirit, and zest for life will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
