Kay (Kathy) F. Johnson

Kay (Kathy) F. Johnson went to her heavenly home on Friday, November 27, 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Terre Haute, IN on August 16, 1938 to Frances and Claude Kelly. She attended Anderson Schools.

Kay loved sharing her skill of baking and candy-making with friends and family. She once owned a candy shop in Yorktown, where her wonderful collections were well-known. She also owned a cleaning service in Indianapolis with her daughter, Michelle, who was her life’s joy. However, her most treasured relationship was with that of her Father God. She read his word daily, trusting in every promise. She was a member of Lake Street Baptist Church in Chesterfield.

She is survived by her brother James L. (Jackie) Kelly, her sister Joy Goya, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved daughter Michelle Johnson; sisters Carmen Walker and Phyllis Mullins; and brothers Merle Kelly and Ronald Kelly.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Lake Street Baptist Church, 23 Lake St., Chesterfield, IN. Masks will be worn, and social distancing will be practiced due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lake Street Baptist Church.
