Kay Frances Miller, formerly known as Kay Frances Patterson, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2024, in Anderson, Indiana. Born on February 24, 1942, in Rushville, Indiana, Kay lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to her family and community.
Throughout her career, Kay devoted herself to her family's business, undertaking various roles and consistently demonstrating an exceptional work ethic. In addition to her professional contributions, she found joy in helping others by babysitting children, a role she cherished deeply.
Kay was renowned for her vibrant personality; she was often described as the toughest lady in the world. Her caring nature shone through as she offered hugs and smiles to everyone around her. She had a remarkable ability to make those in her presence feel valued and loved.
A lover of travel, Kay and her husband relished exploring the world together, with Australia being her favorite destination. This shared passion for adventure created many cherished memories that they held dear. She attended Daleville Christian Church for many years, and then most recently, Chesterfield Christian Church.
Kay was an avid reader and a dedicated sports fan, passionately cheering on the Indiana University men's and women's basketball teams, as well as the Indianapolis Colts football team. She also found great pleasure in dining out, particularly enjoying meals at The Lemon Drop, Juan's Mexican, and Gene's Root Beer Stand.
She was a loyal fan of both Bobby Knight and Pete Rose. Her enthusiasm for sports was a central part of her life.
Kay is survived by her wonderful husband of 60 years, Charles Miller; children Angela Miller and Jon Miller (Traci); brother Dick Patterson; sister Barbara Plank (Eldon); sister-in-law Suzanne Patterson; nieces and nephews; Linda Birch, Kathy Brockelman, Jim Miller, Trisha Prater, Phyllis Abbott, Mark Barclay, Gary Barclay, Bret Barclay, Curt Barclay, Tim Miller, Jeff Miller, Joni Young, Julie Venable, Rob McCorkle, Stephanie McCorkle, Mike McCorkle, Kris Hollman, Greg Simpson, Jill Harris, Jason Patterson, Cheri Gray, Tim Breese, Todd Breese, and Troy Breese; and her loving dogs Minnow and Lily.
She is preceded in death by her parents Paul and Nola (Lewis) Patterson, sister Carolyn McCorkle, brother Gene Patterson. and nephew David Miller.
The family would like to extend their gratitude and thanks to The Bethany Pointe Health Campus for their wonderful care and compassion for Kay.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 4, 2025, from 2-5pm at Chesterfield Christian Church in Chesterfield, IN. The family kindly askes that everyone does casual dress or wears their favorite college sports team apparel (except Purdue or Kentucky!)
Kay Frances Miller leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and commitment to family and community. She will be remembered not only for her strength and resilience but also for the love and joy she brought into the lives of those who knew her.
