Ken Carter, 53, of Greenwood, went to be with the Lord on Sunday November 4, 2018. Ken graduated from Brownsburg High School and later earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Indiana University. Ken was employed with the United States Postal Service for over 20 years. Ken would like everyone to remember that while he suffered with brain cancer for over 12 ½ years, he gave hope to those suffering from terminal illness through his determination and perseverance to live and enjoy life. A special thank you to all who supported him. Ken had a strong relationship with his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who blessed him throughout his illness. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Greenwood. Survivors include, his wife of 20 years Adele “Meyer” Carter, parents Howell and Elizabeth Carter, in-laws, Chris (Ina) Meyer, of Alberton, South Africa, brother, Dr. Steven (Ann) Carter of Medford, OR, sister-in-law, Yolandie (Reinier) Janse Van Rensburg, of Chinhoyi, Zimbabwe, brother-in-law, Andre (Natalie) Meyer of Alberton, South Africa, aunt, Pamela (Oakley) Brown, several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his 3 uncles and grandparents. A memorial service celebrating Ken’s life will be held on Saturday November 10th at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 200 Sunset Boulevard Greenwood, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army. Legacy Cremation & Funeral Service – Indianapolis assisted the family with arrangements.
