Kermit L. Swenson

91, of Indianapolis, passed away on September 18, 2017. He was born on May 18, 1926 in Minneapolis, MN to the late Eric and Ella (Lindquist) Swenson. Kermit is a proud alumni of University of Minnesota. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. Kermit retired from Arsenal Tech High School as the Administrator of Art Education. He was a member of Old Bethel United Methodist Church. Kermit loved singing in the Barbershop Chorus and the Good Times Singers, along with the church choir. He was also an artist, creating recessed carvings for his family to cherish. Kermit will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents mentioned above. Kermit is survived by his wife, Helen Eva Louise Swenson; children, Eric Swenson, Kim (Grant) Davis, and Kristina (Pam Forney) Swenson; grandchildren, Anna Swenson, Will Welch, Forest Davis, Greigh Davis, and Eric Swenson Jr.
A Memorial Service will be at 2pm on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Old Bethel United Methodist Church, 7995 E 21st St, Indianapolis, IN 46219, with a gathering from 12:30pm until the time of service. Burial with military honors to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN. Flowers may be delivered directly to the church. In Kermit’s memory, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements provided by Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Lawrence.
