Indianapolis, IN – It is with great sadness that the family of Kim A. Geisinger, 63, announces her passing after a hard-fought battle with cancer, on Saturday, October 31, 2020, at her home in Indianapolis, IN.
Kim was born on March 27, 1957, in Rye, NH, to the late Norman and Elizabeth Carlsen. She was a 1975 graduate of Portsmouth HS (NH) and attended the University of New Hampshire.
Kim began her professional career at Blue Ribbon Sports (now Nike) in the late 1970s. She also met her husband, Ken Geisinger, at Nike in the early 1980s. Kim and Ken were married on May 7, 1983.
Kim was a devoted wife, mother and Christian. She was a stay-at-home mother for the better part of two decades, raising her three children. Kim was an active member in Lawrence Township, while raising her family and ended up serving the township for over twenty-years after her children left for college. Kim was also an active member at Geist Christian Church, where she served many years as a deacon and Stephen’s minister.
Kim had many passions including her family, arts & crafts, gardening, reading and traveling.
Most importantly, Kim will be remembered by her family and friends because of her unwavering love, selflessness, positivity and her effortless ability to find the good in all people and all situations.
Kim is survived by; her husband Ken Geisinger; her children Kevin Geisinger (Lexington, KY), Scott Geisinger (Lexington, KY) and Amy Witzerman (Indianapolis, IN); her siblings Kathryn Carlsen (Dover, NH), Kyrre Carlsen (Reno, NV), Kevin Carlsen (Indianapolis, IN), Kris Carlsen (Conway, NH); many nephews, nieces and her soon to be grandson – to be named at a later date.
Kim is proceeded in death by her brother Norman “Skip” Carlsen (Sandown, NH).
An open house, celebration of Kim’s life will take place on Tuesday, November 17th at Geist Christian Church (8550 Mud Creek Road, Indianapolis, IN 46256) from 3:00pm-6:00pm.
A private burial service will take place in Rye, New Hampshire.
