Kristani Rayshyl Pate (Staples) of Anderson, Indiana passed away on 3 Sept 2024 at the age of 55. She was born in Greenfield, Indiana, on February 28,1969. She was born to the loving parents of Mary Denise Staples (Lester) and Exel Glen Staples.
She spent her childhood days playing with her younger brother, Jeremy, in the woods around their home in Brown County, Indiana.
She attended school at Helmsburg Elementary as well as Brown County Middle and High Schools. She continued her education at Indiana University in Bloomington, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and then a master’s degree in the same area from Indiana Wesleyan University, Indianapolis.
She started her teaching career at Yorktown Community Schools in 1992 teaching grades 3, 4, and 6 over the course of her 24-year career there. She had over 700 students come through her classroom doors over the years, and they all touched her life in a special way. She found the enthusiasm and joy in which they saw the world energizing. She felt she learned as much from them as they learned from her. Her years with students and staff at Yorktown Elementary were some of her best and most memorable.
She was preceded in death by her father (Exel Staples), her loving partner (Michael Pate), and her beloved dogs.
She leaves behind her mother Mary Denise Walton, stepfather Duffy Walton, brother Jeremy Staples, sister-in-law Karri Staples, nieces Aubrey Burns (Dustin), Hanah Boger (Mitch), Sarah Staples, Elliana Staples. Nephews Kaleb Staples, Noah Staples (Olivia) along with 4 great nieces and 2 great nephews.
