Kristin Meredith Eakins

Kristin Meredith Eakins, 32, of Indianapolis, passed away on December 23, 2020. She was born on November 18, 1988 in Indianapolis to James Jay and Beverly (Vieck) Eakins. Kristin graduated from Lawrence North High School in 2007 and received her Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology in 2009. For the past couple of years, she had been a stay at home mother.

Kristin enjoyed taking nature walks (they called them adventures), climbing trees and swimming with her boys; she loved her rare beach time and the feeling of freedom she got when riding on the back of a motorcycle. She was also a real softie for animals. Her beautiful smile could light up a room, and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her father, James Jay Eakins; maternal grandparents Louis L. and Creba S. Vieck, and paternal grandparents James R. and Carolyn A. Eakins.
Kristin is survived by her children, Carter Short, Korbin Short and Colbie Eakins; mother, Beverly Eakins; brother, Nathaniel Eakins; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Kristin’s cremation arrangements were handled by Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Lawrence. The family will have a memorial service at a later date. Her final resting place will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Fishers, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Indianapolis Humane Society (IndyHumane.org).
