Kyle Poor

September 3, 1998 — February 9, 2025

Kyle Poor, a young man of boundless love, compassion, and creativity, passed away on February 9, 2025, at the age of 26. Born on September 3, 1998, Kyle was a loving son, brother, and friend whose legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Kyle’s passions in life were many, each reflecting his generous and caring spirit. A self-proclaimed “mama’s boy,” he held a deep love and respect for his family, and his relationships were central to his happiness. His heart was as big as his talents. Whether he was cooking a delicious meal, creating something special for those he loved, or sharing a fine chocolate, he took joy in bringing joy to others. He was known for making the best steak, and his love for cooking was a way to connect and show love to his family and friends.

Kyle’s love for life extended to a variety of hobbies. He loved to play Dungeons & Dragons, serving as an exceptional Dungeon Master for his friends’ group. He enjoyed spending time with his brother and friends playing video games, and he enjoyed paintball matches with his dad. A true adventurer, Kyle enjoyed sharing new experiences with those he held dear. Kyle had a passion for motorcycles, riding was like a religious experience for him, making him feel free.

A man of faith, Kyle attended Anderson Christian School until his junior year before graduating at Liberty Christian School and later pursued ministry at Anderson University. His Christian values shaped his life and his relationships. Kyle was a young man of God, living with kindness, patience, and respect for everyone he met. He always had a thoughtful and gentle approach, and his generous heart made him a friend to all.

Professionally, Kyle worked as a lawn care technician and trainer for Lawn Pride, where he demonstrated his work ethic and dedication. Before that, he honed his cooking skills as a cook at 1925 Pubhouse, where his love for food and hospitality was evident in every meal he prepared.

Kyle had an extraordinary childhood, winning the baby crawling contest in 1999 and proudly representing his grandfather's business on his baseball uniform. He remained close to his roots, honoring his family throughout his life. His beloved cat, Mulligan, will miss him dearly, as will all who experienced his love and warmth.

Kyle is survived by his loving mother, Elaine Poor, his father, John Poor and Susan Brandenburg, his brother, Austin Poor, his grandparents Bob and Pat Riddle, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a special group of friends that Kyle called family.

He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents JD and Vaudia Boswell, his grandparents Jim and Ann Poor, Robert and Agnes Riddle, Grandma Bernice Riddle, Uncle Robert Poor, and his beloved cat, Trip, who had been his companion for 19 years.

A special thank you to Pam Mounts, and Bill and Kelly Burch for their kindness, compassion, and help.

Kyle’s life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and the simple joy of sharing experiences with those we hold dear. He was a quiet, gentle soul who made a lasting impact on everyone he met. His memory will forever be treasured by his family and friends. Rest in peace, Kyle. You will be missed more than words can express.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 8, 2025, at East Side Church of God, Kyle's home church his entire life, from 11 AM to 1 PM. This will be a causal come and go service. In lieu of flowers monetary gifts in Kyle's honor would be greatly appreciated.
