Laini Lateefah

Laini Lateefah Born November 19, 1945 in Drew, Mississippi to her parents Willie Lee and Sol Emma Davis, passed away in the comfort of her home on June 30, 2021. Both her parents and her sister, Fannie R. Walker, preceded her in death.

Laini attended Indianapolis public schools 26, Crispus Attucks and Tech High School. She was an IU school of nursing graduate. Laini received her LPN license, specializing in respiratory ventilation. She loved to dance and spend time with her family and friends.

Laini was the second of six children, all girls. She leaves to cherish her memory, son, Derrek Bonds; sisters, Willie Thurman, Vera Rush (Ron), Lou Emma Walker, and Denise Johnson (Dallas); four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Visitation will be from 1pm to 3pm on Friday, July 9, 2021 at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue.
