Larry E. Whitaker, 63 of Indianapolis took his final ride on June 25, 2017. Larry was born October 27, 1953 to William and Faye Whitaker.
Larry worked for American Welding for 25 years, and was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a hard worker, good provider, and a righteous man. He enjoyed fishing, camping, spending time with his family and friends, and riding his motorcycle.
Larry was proceeded in death by his parents William and Faye Whitaker; Brother: Kenneth Whitaker. Larry leaves behind his best friend and soul mate of 31 years Shirley Ross; Sons: Travis (Andrea) Ross, Joshua (The ladies man) Ross, Dustin (Sheena) Ross, 2 Daughters: Jesse (Billy) Lohrman, and Kim; Brothers: Jerry Whitaker, Jimmy Whitaker, Danny Whitaker; Sisters: Judy Sewell and Janice Rambol; 15 Grandchildren and his dog Leroy.
31 years ago when Larry met Shirley, he not only met his best friend and soul mate, he stepped in and became a father and role model to 3 little boys whose father had passed away. Shirley wanted to thank Larry for unselfishly loving her and what would become their children. To meet a man that not only loves you, but loves your children as his own, well that’s a gift from God.
Visitation will be held at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services-Morris Street on Friday, June 30, 2017 from 4pm-8pm, with funeral service at same location on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 11am with burial to follow at Floral Park Cemetery.
