Larry France, age 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 5, 2022, with his wife and son by his side. Larry was born on May 16, 1944, in Evansville, IN. He graduated from Reitz High School in 1962, and attended the University of Evansville. After high school, Larry served in the U.S. Marines.
Larry’s long insurance career started with Allstate. He was also a co-owner and solo owner of an agency. In Fort Wayne, Larry was with K&K Insurance, VP of Motorsports/Brokerage Services/Commercial P&C Divisions. He ended is career at Rough Notes magazine as an Editorial Director of Excess, Surplus and Specialty Lines.
Larry had many passions during his lifetime. He was a major Colt’s fan, even before they arrived in Indy. Larry loved fishing and even participated in competitions. He was a great cook, and turned many people onto smoking pork BBQ, before it became popular. Larry was also an avid gardener, often helping people with advice on how to plant things.
Larry is survived by his wife, LuAnn (Beltz) France and son, Keith France (Andrea).
