Larry Henry Hines, 70, of Indianapolis, passed away due to complications from cancer on February 27, 2021. He was born in Indianapolis on March 3, 1950 to the late John and Irene (Holmes) Hines. Larry attended Arsenal Tech High School before deciding to serve his country in the U.S. Marines in 1968. Larry worked for General Devices Co., Inc as a machinist, retiring in 2013.
Larry loved his family, to ride his Harley Davidson, watch football, and play golf. He collected anything and everything to do with Harley and the Green Bay Packers. Larry was full of life and laughter until the very end. He had the biggest smile and an infectious booming laugh. He was a jokester and just wanted to make everyone laugh too. He never met a stranger and had a huge heart. He was an amazing husband, father, and friend.
Larry is survived by his wife, Donita Hines; children, Stephanie Anderson (Aaron), Sandy Burgett (Terry), Shelia Griffin (David), Brandy Craig (Scott), Dawn Schauinger (Rocky), and Chrissy Schauinger (David); his niece Tammy Ficklin; great nieces Britney Ficklin and Michelle Ficklin; grandchildren, Jordan G., Dylan, Katelyn, Christopher, Charlie, Mikey, Corey, Tyler, Stephanie, Logan, Shelby, Levi, Ashlyn, Jordan S., Haley, and Chloe; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, mentioned above, along with his sister Jonnie (Hines) Graves, his brothers Bill Biddle and Jerry Biddle, and his stepdaughter Jill Pickerell.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 1pm to 3pm with Military Honors at 2:30pm at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46226.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Miracle Ride Foundation for Riley Kids or the American Cancer Society.
