Larry & Janet Thomas

Larry “Baby Doll; Da; Papaw” and Janet “Baby Doll; Darlin; Granny” Thomas passed together on February 2, 2021.  Larry was born in Gilpin, KY on February 5, 1939 to James and Mary Thomas. Janet was born in Roscoe, TX on December 29, 1948 to Oria and Lois Fuller.    

Larry retired from Ford Motor Company after 33 years in 1997.  He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons of Indiana, Monument Lodge #657.  Larry owned a Locksmith Business, where he often had to rescue his own children. He was a talented painter, horse racing “enthusiast”, and he enjoyed monthly luncheons with his friends, the Valley Boys.

Janet traveled the world with her parents as an “Army Brat”.  Janet was a homemaker, a published poet, and dedicated to her Bible study. 

Janet and Larry were married on May 28, 1980 in Indianapolis, IN and enjoyed 41 years of marriage together.  Together they had a blended family of 4 children.

Survived by their children, Denise (Christopher) Tames; Laura (Paul) Christian; Charles (Jackie) Thomas; Jennifer (James Gillen) Waters-Gillen and 13 grandchildren: Paul Christian II; Chris Maker, Jr; Anthony Christian; Jesseca Copp; Jessica Torres; Jett Waters; Sarah Thomas; Grace Thomas; Emma Thomas; Noah Thomas; Samuel Thomas; Eli Thomas; Joshua Thomas; and 6 great-grandchildren.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Thomas; Earnest Thomas; Earl Thomas; Kenneth Thomas; Eugene Thomas; Lowell Thomas; Lloyd Thomas; Vivian Frederick; Phyllis Parrott; Jerry Thomas; and son-in-law Christopher Tames.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Oria and Lois Fuller and her brother Dwight Fuller.

Along with their furry, 4 legged children, Tye, Montrose, Duece and Brutus.

Mom and Dad, we deeply love both of you, and we will forever miss you.
