Larry K. Friend left this world on March 9, 2022, to be with loved ones who are in spirit.
He was born to George and Hilda (Porter) here in Anderson on October 21, 1945, where he spent all his life.
He graduated from Madison Heights High School in 1964. He served in the National Guard Reserve. He later worked for Delco Remy and retired from Delfi in 1998. His home had an open door to anyone who needed a couch to sleep on and food. Larry was a caring and loving man with a heart of gold. Larry will be deeply, deeply missed.
He was very knowledgeable about guns, cars, and knives. He was a hemi lover. He loved rock and roll music, especially Pink Floyd. He was baptized at New Hope Christian Church Anderson in 1984. He loved sitting in his chair and listen to Jayson and Jimmy laugh and cut up.
He is survived by his children Karen (Lee) Ross of Maryland, Ian Friend of Anderson, and Jayson (Misty) Friend of Anderson. 2 sisters Linda (Chuck) Bagley of North Carolina and Kathy of Anderson. 2 grandchildren Nicholas and Natalie of Baltimore, MD.
He is preceded in death by his wife Beverly (Seacat) Friend, parents, and brother-in-law.
A very big thank you to the staff at Ascension Saint Vincent of Anderson, 6th floor and CCU/ICU. He was given loving care and compassion to keep him comfortable. Some of the staff at ICU and respiratory therapy cried at Larry’s passing. Bless everyone and keep up the great work, you all were Larry’s heroes.
A visitation will be held on March 18, 2022 from 12-2pm with a funeral service beginning at 2pm at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Home – Anderson.
