Anderson

Laura Ann Gentry, born Hoyer, graced this world with her vibrant spirit on November 25, 1971, in Anderson, Indiana. Tragically, she left us unexpectedly on August 22, 2024, in her beloved hometown, leaving behind a void that will be impossible to fill.

Laura was a remarkable individual, characterized by her infectious charisma and innate ability to bring joy to those around her. Her funny quips and warm laughter could light up any room, making her a cherished presence amongst friends and family. Laura had a unique way of connecting with people; she was the type of person who would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. Those who knew her understood the strength of her character and how profoundly she valued honesty and directness. You always knew where you stood with her, a refreshing trait in today's world.

Creativity flowed through Laura's veins; she had a deep passion for coloring, drawing, and writing. These hobbies provided her with an outlet to express her boundless imagination—as each stroke of crayon or pen revealed a piece of her heart. Art was more than a pastime for Laura; it was a vital part of her identity.

Laura's contributions to the lives of those around her will be remembered fondly. She had an affinity for bringing people together, whether through shared laughter, heartfelt conversations, or her undeniable talent for making even the most ordinary moments feel extraordinary. Her loss serves as a poignant reminder of the impact one person can have on the lives of many; she was indeed a bundle of joy that will be missed dearly.

As we gather to celebrate Laura's life, we hold close the memories she has gifted to us: the laughter, the love, and the countless moments where her light shone brightly. Though she is no longer physically present, her spirit will continue to inspire us all to live fully and love generously.

Laura is survived by her children Dustin Hoyer, Renee Davis, Kathryn Davis, and Rayburn Thompson; grandchildren Zayden Hoyer, Zari Hoyer, Aria Davis, and Eli Davis; siblings Dorothy, Bessie, David, Candy, Johnny, Bobby, Becky, Matthew, and Montana; several nieces and nephews; boyfriend Fred McCullough; and best friend Angela Cooper.

She is preceded in death by her parents Jim Hoyer and Becky Collins.

Laura Ann Gentry, you are deeply missed but forever cherished in our hearts.
