Lesa R. Briscoe, age 62, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2024. She was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma, on November 1, 1961. Lesa is preceded in death by her mother, Shirley; father, Curtis; and sister, Vanessa. She is survived by her spouse, Will; children, Corey, Troy, Ebony, Tatyana, and Will; siblings, Doretha, Donna, James, Keith, Curtis, and Lindell; and nine beautiful grandchildren who always kept a smile on her face. She is also survived by many loving family members, including nieces, nephews, and cousins, each of whom shared a special bond with her.
Lesa was a hardworking and dedicated individual who spent much of her life in physically demanding roles. She took pride in her work, appreciating the strength and discipline it required. For her, these roles were not just a way to earn a living but also a means to stay active and in shape. Her commitment to her job and strong work ethic were admired by everyone around her, and she excelled at every task that was handed to her. Lesa graduated from Centralia High School and later attended Indiana Business College, where she earned her associate's degree. She was proud of her education and always valued the importance of learning and personal growth. A deep passion for helping others drove Lesa to dream of creating a space for youth in her community, where they could stay out of trouble and find positive outlets. She constantly thought of ways to uplift and support the next generation, and her caring nature touched the lives of many.
In her free time, Lesa cherished spending time with her family and loved nothing more than bringing everyone together for celebrations. Her vibrant spirit shone through in gatherings, parties, and travel. Cruises, in particular, were her favorite, as they allowed her to combine her love of adventure and relaxation while creating lasting memories with loved ones. Lesa was a truly exuberant soul, full of life and energy. Her deep love for music and dancing inspired her to embrace every moment to the fullest. Her joy was infectious, and her generosity knew no bounds. Lesa wasn’t just a mother to her own children; she extended her love and care to anyone who needed it, always offering a kind word, a warm smile, or a helping hand. Her kindness, love, and generosity touched countless lives, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and a life lived with joy.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Lesa on Friday, September 27, 2024, with visitation starting at 11:00 AM and the service to follow at 12:00 PM at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services-Lawrence. Family and friends are invited to join us in honoring her memory and sharing cherished stories. Flowers and memorial contributions to the ALS Association are both welcome.
