Loretta Mcgillem

Loretta Lynn McGillem (53) passed away peacefully on July 13, 2023, with her fiancé, Scott Hinkle, by her side. She was at IU Health University Hospital as Loretta had struggled with health problems during the last few years of her life.

Loretta Turner McGillem was born on October 12, 1969, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was the youngest child of Delmar Dean and Ida Mae Turner. Loretta is survived by her loving fiancé, Scott Hinkle; her daughter, Megan McGillem; and granddaughter, Alycia McGillem. Loretta’s siblings, Darrel Turner Sr. and Tammy Caperton also survive.

Loretta was an outgoing, loving person who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite holiday was Christmas surrounded by her loved ones. Loretta enjoyed cooking, baking, shopping, and watching NASCAR. She also loved animals, especially her bunny rabbits.

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, Delmar and Ida Turner; her brother, Harold Turner; and infant siblings, William and Sandy.

Services for Loretta Lynn McGillem will be Friday, July 28, 2023, at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services located at 1604 W. Morris Street, Indianapolis. Visitation for Loretta will be from 11:00am-12:30pm and a funeral service will begin at 12:30pm, Burial will immediately follow the funeral service at Floral Park Cemetery, 425 S. Holt Road.
