Marilyn Sue Ogburn, born July 12, 1944 in Russel Springs, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2023 in Anderson, Indiana. Marilyn was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many.
Marilyn was a dedicated employee and volunteer for many years, working at Lampco Federal Credit Union, Dunhams Sports, and City of Anderson then volunteering her time to be president of the City of Anderson’s Police Citizens Academy.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Garvis and Bertha Turner, daughter, Renee Suzette Ogburn, son Anthony Ray Ogburn Sr, brother Robert Owen’s, and her husband Roy Ogburn. Marilyn was a devoted wife to her husband Roy Ogburn for over 50 years. Together they raised their four children, Roy Dennis Ogburn Jr. (Rayanna), Anthony Ray Ogburn Sr., Robert Kent Ogburn (Debbie) and Kevin Wayne Ogburn. She loved being a grandmother to her four Grandchildren, Anthony Ray Ogburn Jr., Ashley Nicole Ogburn, Shea Allen Ogburn (Mikenzie), and Nathan Wayne Ogburn and Great-Grandchildren Aiden Ogburn, Liam Ogburn, Berkeley Ogburn, and Elijah Blaylock. And lastly, Barbara Jackson, her dearest friend for life. Huge thank you to the staff at CountrySide nursing home.
Marilyn’s celebration of life will be held at Mounds State Parks recreation building Tuesday November 28th from 4pm to 7pm.
