Marjorie Louise Hines Norton

Some say “Don’t Fear the Reaper,” but we believe the Reaper feared Marge. Our beloved mother, whom was either superhuman or bionic as she fought death many times and won, peacefully passed at home and has joined in death her parents Ernest and Dorothy (Werkhauser) Hines and sister Pauline Hines Kern.

Marge is survived by her children Don (Nadine) Banke, Edgewood, NM; Trace (Cheri) Wilfong, Nolensville, TN, Jeff Johnson, San Francisco, CA, Misty Johnson, Smyrna, TN, and Kelly Banks, Indianapolis, IN, who stayed by her side the last three years of her life providing comfort and care. Marge also leaves 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, siblings Richard (Georgia) Hines, Lakewood, CA, Willa (Edward) Thomas, Danville, IL, Nancy Kingsbury, Hamilton, MT, and numerous nieces and nephews who she loved as her own.

Marge had a long life of hard work in factories until she relocated to Sula, Montana in 1998 with her sister Nancy and late brother-in-law John for the adventure of a lifetime. There she found the peace and tranquility she dreamed about. Known as the Sula Ambassador and town crier, if you needed or wanted to know anything, Marge was your go to gal. Many were fortunate enough to have sat with Marge on the porch of the Sula County Store or at her favorite haunt, The Rocky Knob (where she held court as only she could from a reserved chair at the bar), and undoubtedly heard her passing on her rich life lessons, knowledge, and wisdom with the locals and lucky tourists who would be drawn to her like moths to a flame.

Fly high our feisty white-haired momma! We know you’re giving them Hell in Heaven. As per her wishes, there will be no service. The family will have a memorial at a later date.
