Mary Catherine Burton Clouse, passed on January 20, 2021, she was 91. Born July 11, 1929, in Bryantsville, Indiana, Mary is survived by her 3 sons, Michael, Tommy and Kevin. She has 10 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Mary’s husband of 44 years, Robert “Bob” Clouse, passed away in 1987. They were married in 1946, when she was just 17, and moved to Indianapolis shortly afterwards.
Mary had many different jobs over her life: a sewing factory in Mitchell, IN, a factory in Orleans, IN, a factory in Indianapolis that made shopping bags, Blocks department store downtown. Mary worked at RCA wiring color TVs, Standard Grocery and Kroger’s giving out samples. She was a sales lady at Penney’s downtown, a hostess at the L.S. Ayres Tea Room, along with taking pictures of kids with Santa at L.S. Ayres. Mary also worked at Chevrolet Truck and Bus for 24 years. She did all of these things while raising her 3 sons, and she never drove a day in her life.
Mary was a fantastic mother, I know, because my 2 brothers and I lovingly call her Mom.
