Mary Lee Weintraut, age 80, of Indianapolis, IN died on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Allisonville Meadows Nursing Home. Born on April 14, 1936 in Searcy, AR she was the daughter of the late Thomas L. and Julia E. (Hollenberger) Goodwin.
She was married on September 1, 1956 to her husband of 60 years, Mark E. Weintraut in Des Plains, IL. For over 30 years she worked as head of accounting for Gardner and White Insurance Agency. Along with her husband she also was co-owner of Centre Art Gallery. She was an active member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. She loved to play cards and was known for her very cheerful disposition. She was always quick to make people laugh and will be remembered by many for her sense of humor.
She is survived by her husband, Mark; daughter, Julia-Lee (Douglas) Burroughs; grandson, Spencer Burroughs; sister-in-law, Dorine Wolsiefer; brother-in-law, Omer (Carolyn) Weintraut; 4 cousins in Little Rock, AR; as well many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 2, 2017 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 4650 N. Shadeland Ave., Indianapolis from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery in Shelbyville. Donations in memory of Mrs. Weintraut can be made to the donor’s choice of charity or for Masses. Envelopes will be available at the church.
