Mary Lewis Cooling

Mary Lewis Cooling, 78, of Carmel peacefully passed away on May 15, 2023. She was born February 10, 1945, in Indianapolis, IN, to the late William P. and Anna Virginia (Lewis) Cooling.

Mary’s greatest peace, her greatest joy, was outside gardening and tending to her flowers. There was happiness in those blossoms. Her announcement to share the beauty of life.

She coupled that fondness with baking. Flowers and pie. Simple delights and her gift of sharing. To spread unspoken joy among her friends and community. You could often find her under the sun, enjoying peaceful tranquility on her pontoon at Mystic Bay Lake were she happily resided among dear friends which would become her most cherished part of life.

Mary lovingly embraced, her dedication and commitment to her family and most of all, her children. She is survived by her daughters Krista Ritter and Hope Roperto; four grandchildren Alexander Daniel, Niles Atlas (né Raleigh Daniel), Oliver Roperto and Aidan Roperto; great-granddaughter, Gwendolyn Flota; and two sisters, Virginia (John III) Hollett and Susan (Phil) Cook.
