A graduate of Anderson High School, Class of 1969, Maurice moved through life with a quiet strength. His commitment to service was exemplified during his time in the United Marine Corps, where he developed values of discipline and integrity that remained with him throughout his life.
Maurice dedicated many years of his professional life working at Delco Remy, a testament to his strong work ethic and commitment to his responsibilities. He later served as a security guard at the Allen County Public Library, ensuring the safety and well-being of its visitors and staff, embodying a supportive and protective presence.
Throughout his life, Maurice was known for his kind and friendly demeanor. Despite his reserved nature, he connected with friends and family through his genuine warmth and care. He had a passion for physical fitness, regularly enjoying running and working out, activities that showcased his commitment to maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Maurice's interests extended to automobiles; he found joy in buying cars, often appreciating the nuances of each vehicle. Additionally, he was an avid fan of baseball, enjoying the thrill of the game and the camaraderie it often fostered among fellow enthusiasts.
Maurice is survived by his son Chad Hannaford (Tammy Charles); Mother Shirley Hannaford; siblings Dan Hannaford (Jerry), Andrew Hannaford (Yonda), and David Hannaford (Anita); and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father Maurice E. Hannaford.
A graveside service will be held on Monday October 7, 2024, at 1pm at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
