Melinda Renee’ Nolen, 47, of Anderson, died of injuries sustained in a car/truck accident on August 27, 2020.
She was born January 10, 1973 in Seymour, IN. the daughter of Allen and Michaelee (Frederickson) Nolen. She was raised and lived her life in Anderson. She was a 1991 graduate of Pendleton Heights High School. She attended Ball State University in Muncie, IN and later obtained her associate degree in nursing from Ivy Tech in Anderson, IN.
She was employed with Covance, Inc. in Greenfield, IN. and for several years prior to that she was a server at Red Lobster and Cracker Barrel restaurants in Anderson, IN.
Survivors include her parents of Anderson; her husband, Michael Turner; her step-daughter, Kiya Turner, both of Anderson; her two daughters, Natalie (Alex) Roberts of Indianapolis; Olivia Turner of Anderson; and her grandson (baby boy Roberts) who is due in September. Two brothers, Allen Nolen and Stanley (Missy) Nolen and niece, Kaylin Nolen all of Anderson: half-brother, Carl Nolen, of Kansas and her grandmother, Carma Nolen of Shelbyville, IN; special “sister” Penny Jo Illuzzi and family of Omaha, NE; several uncles, aunts, cousins and so many friends and “besties” that can’t be listed. You know who you are.
Also left to honor her memory is a very special couple, Jeff and Deanna Gilbert of Indianapolis.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Donald and Myrtle (Ballard) Frederickson, her grandfather, Virgil Nolen and a half-brother, Robert Nolen.
Melinda will indeed be deeply missed by so many people. She was a great mother, hard worker, a good friend and confidant. If there was something, she could do for someone she would try her best to fix, repair, make it work or find a solution for it. She had a unique sense of humor and her laughter was contagious. But….she also had what her daughter called her “mama face” and if it was turned on you……uh, oh….watch out. Until we meet again…..Fly high, Melinda, Fly high. (mom)
Services will be held on Wednesday, September 2nd at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Home, 504 W. Ninth Street, Anderson, IN. Visitation 12:00 to 2:00 with service following.
