Melisa April Humphries-Hernandez, known as Lisa by her family and as Mel by her friends

44, of Indianapolis, passed away on August 13, 2017. She was born on May 21, 1973 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Melisa taught us all how to love unconditionally with no judgement. She gave her last with no hesitation and was the first person to offer her love, money, support, or assistance without question. Her heart was so big and given to so many that in the end she didn’t leave any for herself, and she would have never thought to. What she instilled in her family and friends is something that can never be taken away and that’s the sun shining and the stars glistening will always be there to lift us in even the darkest times.
Melisa is survived by her: children, Sierra Humphries, Marijah Weaver, and Ashley Fontana; grandchildren, DeMyah Oliver and LeAsia Oliver; mother, Karla (Paul) Coy; father, Gerald (Rita) Humphries; siblings, Michelle Hayden, Misty Gomez, Jeannie Coy, Paul Coy III, Jennifer Penn, Christina Smith, Jennifer Thomas, and Robert Galloway.
A Memorial service will be on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 1pm at Calvary Baptist Church, 3255 N. German Church Road. Arrangements provided by Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Lawrence.
