Fort Wayne

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael W. Ferguson on July 24, 2024, in Ft. Wayne, IN. He was surrounded by his loved ones. Michael, also known as Mike, was born on July 9, 1960, in Anderson, IN, and was the beloved son of Michael L. Ferguson, Marilyn (Wood) Ferguson, and step-father Fred Beaman.

Mike's life was characterized by dedication and service. After graduating from Anderson High School in 1979, he immediately enlisted in the United States Marines, just three days later. Stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC, Mike honed his skills as a mechanic and attended trade school to further his education. During his time in the Marines, Mike alse became a proud father.

Following an honorable discharge, Mike pursued a career as a welder, a profession he took immense pride in. He retired in 2005 after years of hard work and dedication.

Mike touched the lives of many and left behind a legacy that will be cherished by those who knew him. He is survived by his siblings, Christine and Tammy Ferguson, Deneen Thornburg, and Mike Beaman; his children, Trint (Amy Krontz), Nabria, Amanda (Matt Ramsey), Matthew (Angie Harris), Jessica (Joe Croft), and Rebekah Kinney; as well as his grandchildren, Willow, Jaxson, and Vivian.

In his leisure time, Mike was an avid angler with a true passion for fishing. His infectious smile and quick wit meant he always had a joke to brighten the day. He found joy in activities such as golfing and attending races, and his drive and determination led him to earn Golden Gloes. Mike had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, enjoyed working on cars, and cherished spending time with his family. His love for his brothers and cousins was unwavering, nothing but love.

He credits his wisdom with the three generations of wives - Kim, Shelley, and Karen.

A little reminder from Mike, "Live life on life's terms".
