Michael "Goose" Carpenter

Michael Carpenter, AKA "Goose", of Anderson, passed away on August 21, 2024, at the age of 75. He was born to Luther and Helen Carpenter on January 22, 1949, in Anderson. 

Michael was well known for his love of Miller Light Beer and his frequent visits to the Anderson Speedway. He loved going to all the races and especially to support Xavier King. Goose was the life of the party at every event. He was outgoing and never met a stranger. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He was truly one of a kind who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. 

Goose is survived by his daughter Stephanie Durant; son Chad Wells (Heather); 3 grandchildren; sister Sandy Robinson; and the entire Arnold family, who lovingly took him in as their own and considered him family. 

He is preceded in death by his parents Luther and Helen Carpenter, siblings Tommy Carpenter, Francis Gee Carpenter, Mary Evans, and Carolyn Sue Craig, and best friend Donald Arnold. 

A Celebration of Michaels life will take place at the American Legion at a later date.
