Michael dedicated many years of his life to his career as a carpenter, a profession in which he took great pride. His craftsmanship and skills were a source of satisfaction for him, reflecting his commitment to quality and in every project he undertook.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Michael was known for his vibrant personality and infectious humor. Affectionately dubbed the family's "Uncle Buck," he had a unique and contagious laugh that resonated with those around him, often heard a mile away. Michael was the life of the party, bringing joy and laughter to every gathering. A natural storyteller, he shared countless tales with his family, and over the years, they had almost every story memorized, each recounted with fondness and nostalgia.
Michael's character was defined by his unwavering loyalty and love for others. He was a great friend to many, always ready to lend a helping hand and provide support in times of need. His generous spirit and loving nature endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In his leisure time, Michael was an avid Colts fan and a devoted follower of NASCAR. He lived by the motto, "nothing is better than a good bonfire and a good Bud Light," reflecting his love for relaxation and enjoyment. His passion for food was evident in his skills as a wonderful cook, often having friends and family over for dinner. Additionally, during his younger years, he enjoyed the game of pool, further adding to the cherished memories shared with loved ones.
Michael is survived by his significant other, Reta Gross; 2 fur babies Sabby and Hoss; nieces and nephew Ceresa Key (Joey), Amanda Lynn (Jimmy), Brandy Lane, Crystal Lane, Jessica Lane, Heather Allen (Matthew), David Lane, and Serena Shell (Cory); great nieces and nephews Kelsey Steele (Ross), Katie Weins (Logan), Kayden Key, Kiliegh Stanley (Hayden), Kyler Lynn (Morgan), Kynzee Humphrey (Austin), Chesney Kerr, Channing Kerr, Jonathan Coffman, Madison Dickerson, Jessalynn Watson, Diamond Watson, and Preston Lane; several great-great nieces and nephews; and step-son David Brinkely.
He is preceded in death by his parents Freeman and Doris Lane, brothers David Lane and Dwight Lane.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday October 30, 2024, from 2-4pm with a funeral service beginning at 4pm at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Services - Anderson.
Michael Lane leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and unforgettable stories. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to share in his life.
