Nancy Mae Penrose
72, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on September 22,2016. She was born on April 23, 1944 inLebanon, Indiana to the late Noble and Eula Penrose. She grew up in Zionsville, Indiana and was a 1962graduate of Zionsville High School. Nancy started her working career in data management at the GovernmentFinance Center in Indianapolis, later to retire in 1995 from the Naval AvionicsFacility.
Nancy was spunky and stubborn as a child, and still stubbornas an adult. She was a loving and caringperson, always concerned about other people. Nancy and her sister, Carol, would consistently donate to the old BethelFood Pantry, to help out in any way that they could. They loved to do plastic canvas craftprojects together. Nancy especiallyloved it when someone would ask for something a little different, so that shecould figure out the new pattern and how to make it work. Nancy and Carol would do the prep &jumble solvers together every Sunday, racing to see which one would get donefirst, and then Nancy would ask Carol to help her solve the puzzle in thepaper, in which Carol would laugh. Nancywill truly be missed.
She is survived by: her siblings, Ruby Carol Loy, MaryMerriman, Shirley Penrose, Milt Penrose, Bob Penrose, and Chuck Penrose; alongwith 26 nieces and nephews; and 13 great-nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by: her siblings,Billy Wagoner, Betty Ross, and Perry Penrose; along with her parents.
Nancy’s funeral service will be at 12noon on Tuesday,September 27, 2016 at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Lawrence, 5215N. Shadeland Avenue, with visitation from 11am until the time of service.
