Nelly Gonzalez

Nelly Gonzalez was a very independent women who led a very amazing life. She was born on June 27, 1955 to Raquel and Sebastian Gonzalez, and flew home on July 16, 2023.

She was artistic, thoughtful, loved animals, enjoyed her coffee and donuts, knew how to get anywhere on a bus line, and lived to be 68 years old as a schizophrenic. Nelly had loving friends that were angels in her life, as she was an angel to them.

She taught us all so much about strength, perseverance, the heartache of this disease, and we are grateful she is now truly resting in peace.

Nelly had such a tender side that we all knew and loved. She had a heart of gold despite being controlled by her schizophrenia. During her final days she was surrounded by people that loved her. Her parents recently transitioned, we know she is with them and this gives us great comfort. Nelly is also now with her husband Mark who was a guiding light to Nelly for many years.

Nelly is survived by her 5 siblings and many nieces and nephews. May she paint some masterpieces in heaven. Until we meet again dear sister, much love to your courage and strength. We have all learned more about love and compassion because of you. Thank you for this priceless gift. You were a warrior.

The Gonzalez family will hold a private service for Nelly. Please take a moment to pray for the people who have schizophrenia and for their families.
