Opal Marlene (Plank) Manley, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at the age of 83. She was born the youngest of thirteen children to Bert and Evelyn Plank on November 19, 1936 in Montezuma, Indiana.
Opal moved to Indianapolis and married Thomas Manley; she became the loving mother of five children and worked for Jenn Air appliances until her retirement.
Opal was active, energetic, and always on the go. She enjoyed her second home in Buffalo, Indiana where she was always surrounded by family and friends whom she would go boating with on Lake Shafer. She was also a member of Moose Lodge 17 with many of her friends. Opal’s favorite saying was, “I’m going to live until I die”.
Opal was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Manley and parents, Bert and Evelyn Plank. She is survived by: her adoring partner Don Montgomery; daughter Karen and her partner Traci Kelley; son Denny and his wife Dawn, their son Mitch and his wife Krista, and their children Brie and Ellie; son, Pat and his wife Deanna, their children Jonathan, Kortni and partner Joey Walls (Jax, Jett, and Paisley), Mallory, Luke, Jimmi Bayer and his wife Leandra; son, Vic and his wife Shirlene, their children Alex (Addalyn), Brooke and her husband Justin Gordon, Dylan Hyderkhan and his wife Heather and their son Kayden; daughter Judy and her husband Ron Coonse, as well as many other relatives and close friends.
