Orman O. “Mac” McKinley, Jr., 84, passed away peacefully on Jan. 9, 2016. He was born January 21, 1931 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Orman and Elizabeth McKinley, who along with sister Patricia Wheaton and wife Rose McKinley, preceded him in death. Mac served as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and cared deeply for all fellow veterans. He graduated from Broad Ripple High School, attended Purdue University and worked in sales. He was a lifelong traveler, avid fisherman and a member of the Optimist Club of Northside Indianapolis. He had a unique sense of humor, lively spirit and mischievous nature. He will be dearly missed by his sisters Betty LeClare (Don), Martha Harding (Joe), stepsons David, Alan, and Robert Beckom, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial celebration of his life will be held at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, Indianapolis, on Sat., January 30, at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, Wheeler Mission, or the National Alliance on Mental Health, Indianapolis.
