Patricia D. Moore, age 70 has earned her heavenly wings on Saturday April 27th, 2019 at 5:20am. She was surrounded by family as she passed peacefully in her sleep. She had been on hospice the last 6 months of her life due kidney failure.
Patricia was born August 8th, 1948 in Indianapolis, Indiana. The daughter of Thelma Marcella Hobbs, who preceded her in death. She was the oldest of three children. She has a sister, Roberta Dolak who lives in Indianapolis. Her brother, Forrest Hobbs also preceded her in death.
Patricia lead a fairly simple life. She was a homemaker for most of her life. She went back to school in her 40’s and became a Licensed Practical Nurse in her late 40’s. She worked at several nursing homes in the Indianapolis area for better than 15 years. She was strong willed. Could do anything she set her mind to. She had a quick wit about her. Often told jokes or made smart aleck remarks to make patients, co-workers, friends and family laugh. She believed that in most cases, a pill was not going to cure you because laughter was the better medicine. She also loved doing crafts. Over the years she has made anything from dolls to blankets to key chains for friends and family.
She is survived by her three children: Marsha Moore, Marshall Moore and Marcus Moore. She had several grand children: Dakota Moore, Maria (Moore) Turpin, Rachel Moore, Cameron Moore, Angie Moore, Victoria Stickford and Cody Moore. And she was blessed enough to even have a few great grand children: Cayden and Madison Turpin. Teagan Moore. And Nevaeh Davis. Last but not least, her two fur babies: Leeloo and Corbin.
There is a huge hole in all our hearts that she has left behind. She will be greatly missed, but never ever forgotten. Patricia did not want a sad and crying funeral service but has encouraged her friends and family to have a celebration of life party instead. Sorry for the short notice but we are having the celebration this Sunday, May 5th at the Church of God 1410 S. Harriet St. Martinsville, Indiana, at 2pm. Light food and drinks provided. You bring the happy memories of mom and laughter.
At this time the family would also like to thank Southern Care Hospice for the tremendous and outstanding job they did to help make her final wish possible…..to transition peacefully at home.
