Patricia Lynn Mayse
63, of Indianapolis, passed away on February 9, 2018. She was born in Indianapolis on December 27, 1954 to the late Harry L. Douglas and Mabel (Williams) Watson. Patricia married Reverend Richard Mayse, who was the minister of Ritter Avenue Church of the Nazarene. He passed away in 2004, and now Patricia has gone to join him in Heaven.
Patricia loved flowers, especially snapdragons, and liked to sew. She loved Indycar racing, where she would sometimes root for Mario Andretti. But her favorite driver was Bobby Unser, whom she got to meet multiple times. Patricia also loved dogs and cats, and would take care of not only hers, but her friend’s as well. Patricia was also a cosmetologist. She loved her daughter, Amanda, and they did everything together. They liked to frequent the Cracker Barrel on Post Road, where their favorite server, Gayle, would take care of them.
In Patricia’s younger years, she liked playing with her Barbie dolls and knew how to play the accordion. She would draw comic strips with her father and write to her pen pals from all over the world. She even kept her letters and pictures in an album to look at later. Patricia was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband and parents, all of whom are mentioned above. Patricia is survived by her daughter, Amanda Mayse; uncle, Lawrence (Mary) Williams; aunt, Lavada Williams; and cousins, Marcia Truax, Max Williams, Linda Burgess, Jack Williams, and Dara Williams.
